# How To Login To HughesNet Router?

<?xml encoding="utf-8" ?>HughesNet is one of the most popular **[Internet Service Providers in the United States](https://datafeature.com/best-internet-service-provider-in-usa/)**—and for good reason. In most cases, technicians help you set up the HughesNet connection and Wi-Fi network at your home. But there could be times when you have to log in to the router and modify things like the Wi-Fi name/password. In this guide, I will share the steps to log in to a HughesNet router with you. Shall we start?

## Before You Start

You need to set up a few things before you can log in to the HughesNet **router-modem device**. Given below are some pointers:

![Before You Start](https://datafeature.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/before-you-start.png)

- Ensure that your HughesNet router is connected to the **HughesNet network** using the correct cables and power.
- I recommend connecting your computer to the router using **[Ethernet](https://datafeature.com/what-is-ethernet/)** during the entire process. You may have a stable Wi-Fi connection, but Ethernet is far better.
- You must have access to the product label of the router or the packaging it came with. Either of these things will contain the **default username and password** you need.

Once you have ensured these points, we can start the login process. You must know two things before you’d be able to log in, though.

## HughesNet Routers IP Address

The HughesNet **router’s IP address** is the first thing you must know. This IP address allows you to access the dashboard and other aspects of the device. You can follow a few different ways to find out the IP address of the router. They are:

1. You can look at the router product label or the packaging it came with. You will most likely **[find the IP address](https://datafeature.com/find-your-router-ip-address/)** for accessing the router dashboard.
2. You can use typical options like **[192.168.0.1](https://datafeature.com/ip/192-168-0-1/)** or type **https://systemcontrolcenter.com** in the URL bar. Both these options can lead you to the default router IP address of the device.
3. If none of these options works, you can detect the **[default router IP address](https://datafeature.com/default-ip-addresses/)** using a connected device. For instance, you can use the ipconfig command on Windows to detect the router IP address. If you are using a Mac, you can use the Wi-Fi pane from the menu bar.

The default router IP address is one of the few IP addresses that you can normally access. It should help you see the login page in a few minutes.

## HughesNet Default Username and Password

Once you see the login page, you need to actually log in. You need to enter the username and password to make this process work. So, you need to know these credentials in the first place:

1. You can check the router label, which normally contains the username and password for the router. Keep in mind that these credentials are different from the **[Wi-Fi SSID](https://datafeature.com/ssid-of-network/)** and password.
2. Sometimes, the product packaging contains the username and password for the HughesNet router.

However, if you have trouble locating the username and password, you can use the following combinations.

- **Username**: Leave it blank
- **Password**: admin

This combination should work fine for the **HT2000W router model** from HughesNet. This should work if you have not changed the credentials before. If you changed the password but forgot the password you set up, you can reset the HughesNet router to restore the default credentials.

Keep in mind that factory resetting the HughesNet router will also restore the **default Wi-Fi SSID/password** for the network. You may want to keep the **router label/packaging** nearby if you proceed with a factory reset of the router.

## Log In To HughesNet Router

Now that you have all the information to log in to the HughesNet router, you can follow the steps I’ve given below:

1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the HughesNet router using an **[Ethernet cable](https://datafeature.com/ethernet-cables-types/)**. Once you have done it, open a web browser like **[Microsoft Edge](https://datafeature.com/microsoft-edge-browser-statistics/)** or **[Google Chrome](https://datafeature.com/google-chrome-statistics/)**.
2. Type the default router IP address (192.168.0.1) or [**http://systemcontrolcenter.com**](http://systemcontrolcenter.com) in the URL bar, and wait for the login page to show up.
3. Once you see the login interface, you can enter the username and password. You can probably leave the username section empty and use *admin* as the password. However, you should use the new set of credentials if you have changed the username and password in the past.

If you entered the correct details, you should now be seeing the **HughesNet router dashboard**. You can use this dashboard to access different settings and other options. One common task to do after setup is changing the default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.

## Change The HughesNet Default WiFi Name And Password

Continuing to use the default Wi-Fi name and password is one of the most unsafe things you can do. It can expose your network to countless threat actors. Even if your HughesNet router uses a **serialized Wi-Fi name and password**, you can’t completely escape from trouble.

Here is how you can change the HughesNet default Wi-Fi name and password in some simple steps:

- First, log in to the HughesNet router dashboard by following the steps given in the previous section.
- Once you can access the dashboard, choose **Wi-Fi Settings** from the sidebar menu.
- You can now see an interface containing information about Wi-Fi networks. As you can see, there are multiple tabs for options like **[2.4GHz](https://datafeature.com/2-4ghz-5ghz-6ghz-wi-fi-bands/)**, 2.4GHz Guest, 5GHz, and 5GHz Guest.
- You can **choose any of these tabs** and **choose the SSID and password** for the network. You can also change aspects like network type, security protocol, Hide SSID, etc.

- Once you have made these changes, click **Save Settings** to apply all the settings.

Keep in mind that your HughesNet Wi-Fi router will restart before the **new Wi-Fi SSID** and password are applied. Normally, if you were connected via Wi-Fi, you would lose the connection. However, if you are using Ethernet, there is nothing to worry about.

While you are at it, make sure you **choose a strong password** that people cannot easily guess. You must also make use of the **[Guest Network](https://datafeature.com/create-safe-secure-guest-wifi/)** feature built into HughesNet routers. This feature allows you to set up a separate network for guests. This network will offer access to the Internet without exposing all your devices.

## Wrapping Up

I hope this guide helped you understand the process of logging in to the HughesNet router. Compared to a number of **ISP-provided routers** I have come across, HughesNet routers have a simplified UI design. Thus, it does not matter whether you are familiar with Wi-Fi routers; **setting up the network** and managing aspects like security is easy.
